Our Story

Behind the Pours

Golden Road Vineyards began with a simple idea: Wine should bring people together, not intimidate them.

When Chad and Crista Guebert purchased Golden Road Vineyards in 2017, they traded Northern Virginia traffic for rolling vineyards in the Yadkin Valley. While they continue their careers as healthcare IT consultants, their passion has become creating a winery that's welcoming, approachable, and a little unexpected.

What started as a vineyard selling grapes to other wineries has grown into an award-winning destination where guests come for great wine, genuine hospitality, and experiences worth sharing. Today, Golden Road produces wines that have earned recognition in competitions across North Carolina while staying true to the belief that enjoying wine should never feel intimidating.

Along the way, we've built more than a tasting room. We've created a place where friends gather for live music, sunsets, laughter, and conversations that last longer than planned. Whether you're discovering North Carolina wine for the first time or you've been collecting bottles for years, you'll find the same welcome here.

We like to say we're serious about making great wine, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.

Our mission is simple: make exceptional wine, create memorable experiences, and prove that wine can be approachable, fun, and just a little nerdy.

Because at Golden Road Vineyards, you'll never need to know the right vocabulary to belong. Just bring yourself.
